Martha L. Edminster

Martha L. Edminster, age 90, of Chillicothe, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

Martha was born on November 24, 1933 in Peoria, IL to Oscar and Marie (Isenberg) Sweeney.  She married Billy E. Edminster on June 18, 1952 in Chillicothe.  He preceded her in death in 1993.  Also preceding her in death are her daughter, Julie Edminster; her granddaughter, Courtney Edminster; her parents and her sister, Susan Hayward.

Surviving are her children, Steven Edminster, Karen (Steven) Herriford and Key Vecco, all of Chillicothe; her grandchildren, Travis and Sean Herriford, Thomas Edminster, Brittney Coventry, Adam (Ashley) Coventry and Shelby (Sam) Puent; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Jack Sweeney of Chillicothe; and her niece and nephews.

Martha graduated from Methodist School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse for Methodist Hospital for over 30 years.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11am at Chillicothe City Cemetery.  Memorials in her name may be made to The Ark in Lacon.  Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
