Martha Lee Caviness Greeson, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on May 31, 1940 in Randolph County to the late Armp “RD” Caviness and Nellie Madge Langley Caviness. Martha was married to Odell Greeson for 56 years prior to his death in 2015.
Prior to Martha’s retirement she worked at Regent Lighting for 15 years. Martha enjoyed reading, word puzzles, Facebook, online shopping, traveling to Las Vegas, playing slot machines, listening to Elvis, but most of all she loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of Martha’s greatest joys was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Sandy Glenn and husband John, Sharon Walker (Butch Smith), Kim Workman and husband Scott, Steve Greeson and wife Heather; grandchildren, Adam (Megan), Joshua (Kendal), Jamie (Josh), Stephen, Ben, Luke and Rylee; great grandchildren, Reece, Finley, Julian, Dylan, Holden, Colt and Caden; siblings, Betty Greeson, Gladys Shafer, Clifton “Tip” Caviness and wife Norma; several nieces and nephews. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, Shannon Lee Greeson and her siblings, Dorothy Hinton and Clarence Caviness.
The celebration of life service will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 2, 2022 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Brad Griese. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at her daughter, Sandy’s residence in Gibsonville.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the AuthoraCare nurses, Jennifer, Beverly, Lauren, Bonnie and Teri for their compassion and loving care that was shown to their mother during her illness, and to Pastor Brad Griese and Pastor Kristin Gerner Vaughn for their thoughtfulness visits and prayers.
