Martha A. Harris

Martha A. Harris of Jackson, Michigan went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 28, 2025. She was born on February 26, 1946 in Elkhart, Indiana to Robert and Ruth (Lynn) Harris.
Martha is survived by her brother John (Bev) Harris of Goshen, IN, her nephews and nieces, Toby (Sarah) Harris of Mishawaka, IN, Nathanael (Lindsay) Harris of Edwardsburg, MI, Peter (Kimberly) Harris of Raeford, NC, Teresa (Santiago) Carrasco of Charlotte, NC, Emery (Melissa) Harris of Elkhart, IN, Carrie (Jake) Dibble of Goshen, IN, James Harris of Goshen, IN, Chris (Gina) Bennett in Edwardsburg, MI, and Paul (Ileta) A. Bennett in Casa Grande, AZ . And many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by her parents Robert and Ruth (Lynn) Harris, sisters Lynne (Harris) Bennett, and Mary Harris, brother-in-law Paul R. Bennett, and nephew Joel Harris.
Martha was a long-time member of Cascades Baptist Church and loved her church family. Her hobbies included Bible Study Fellowship, small group, missions committee and choir. She spent time studying the Bible with fellow believers at Bible Study Fellowship, In her small group, she brought family and friends' request for prayer, and was actively involved in the church's missions committee. She kept in touch with the missionaries and headed the adopt-a-missionary program. Martha also enjoyed visiting the missionaries that she supported in prayer. She loved singing and in addition to her time with the Moody Bible Institute choir, she was also involved in the church choir when there was a choir. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed cooking, baking and the opportunity to share with neighbors and friends. Her love and generosity touched many lives, and her love for Jesus was shown both in her smile and in her service to others through action and prayer. Her nephews and nieces had a special place in her heart.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at Cascades Baptist Church (1012 W. High Street, Jackson, MI 49203) on Thursday, November 6, 2025 beginning at 6:00 P.M. with Pastor Chris Garrow officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the church. Another funeral service will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Sugar Grove Church in Goshen, Indiana (58512 Old Country Rd 17, Goshen, IN 46528) beginning at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Edward Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at Sugar Grove Church. Interment will follow at the Sugar Grove Cemetery.
