Martha Jean Hayes, age 77 of Oakwood died Sunday July 21, 2024 at her residence. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday July 24, 2024 at 11:30 am at the Dewberry Baptist Church Cemetery #2 Cleveland Hwy. Gainesville, Ga. The Rev. Lamar Purcell will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 4pm to 8 pm and also Wednesday the morning of the service from 10 am to 11 am.
Mrs. Hayes was born in Gainesville, Ga. to the Late Virgil Lee and Lois Gaines Smith and she was the widow of James Milton Hayes. She worked for many years at Barry Manufacturing and also Circle M food mart and Kangaroo food stores as well. She was a longtime member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Gainesville.
Survivors include her son, Aaron Truelove of the home. A brother, Lee Smith of Gainesville, 2 sisters, Betty Jo Gaddis of Lula and Mary Ann Lee of Gainesville.
