Martha 'Jeanette' Jackson, a beloved and devoted mother, passed away on August 26, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on July 9, 1940, to the late Raymond Conaway and Edith (Shay) Warren.
Jeanette was born and raised in Spiceland, IN. She graduated from Spiceland High School and throughout her life, she exemplified the values of family, devotion, and service, making her loved ones the center of her universe.
Jeanette was a remarkable provider, dedicating herself to raising her family with love and care. Her children were her greatest pride, and she found immense joy in nurturing and supporting them throughout their lives. In addition to her role as a devoted homemaker, Jeanette had a passion for cooking, and she earned a reputation as a fabulous baker. She loved the joy of gathering friends and family around the table, where her meals and baked goods often served as the centerpiece for cherished memories. Additionally, she enjoyed playing card games, especially euchre, which brought laughter and joy during gatherings with friends and family.
A longtime member of Knightstown Christian Church, Jeanette actively participated in her spiritual community. Her faith was an essential part of her life, guiding her interactions with others and providing her with strength and comfort. She found fulfillment in attending church services and contributing to the church's activities.
Jeanette was also known for her lively spirit in the community and was an active member of the Red Hat Society. Alongside her husband, she was a committed member of the Eastern Star and actively supported the Masonic Lodge.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Debra (Bubba) Plank and Donnie (Teree) Jackson, II; sister, Mary Lou Riddle; brothers in law, Steve (Karen) Jackson and Rick (Phyllis) Jackson; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Don Jackson; daughter, Cynthia Watson; brother, Richard Conaway; and sister, Ruth Hardyman.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Larry Wheat officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
