Martha Lynn Jepsen, 61, of Center Point, Iowa, died Saturday, September 27, 2025. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, with visitation beginning one hour prior.
Martha was born on October 24, 1963, in Caledonia, Minnesota, to Lester and Thelma (Nelson) Korsness. She graduated from North Winneshiek High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Luther College. On March 16, 1985, she married Mark Donald Jepsen in Hesper, Iowa. Martha worked as a lead teacher at St. Paul’s Preschool and later as an early childhood special education para-educator with Center Point-Urbana Schools. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids.
Martha dedicated her life to children, especially her children and grandchildren. She had a deep passion for missions, spending time in Sri Lanka, Guyana, Puerto Rico, and other locations. Martha lived a life of service to others and to Jesus, bringing compassion and heart to everything she did. She had a deep love for music and was often singing.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Mark Jepsen of Center Point; her sons, Tyler (Heather) Jepsen of New Hartford, Iowa, Nathan (Lauren) Jepsen of Lisbon, Iowa, and Joel Jepsen of Decorah, Iowa; her grandchildren, Emmett, Adeline, Amelia, and Emerson; her goddaughter, Brynlee; her father, Lester Korsness of Decorah; her sister, Linda (Jeff) Hernes of Shoreview, Minnesota; her brother-in-law, Edward Darrington; and her sister-in-law, Nicolle Korsness.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Korsness; her sister, Lois Darrington; her brother, Paul Korsness; and her grandson, Gabriel.
