Funeral services for Martha Frances Jones, 77, will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service. Officiating the service will be Rev. Andrew Brewster.
Martha was born November 3, 1947 in Converse, Louisiana to Larus Jackson Ryals and Mildred Kegley Ryals and passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
Martha Frances Ryals Simmons Jones grew up in a rural area of Converse, Louisiana. She graduated from Oak Grove High School in 1966 and soon moved to Shreveport where she spent her remaining years. She loved to read, sew and garden. Even though she only had one child, she helped raise many. She was loved greatly by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Larus and Mildred Ryals; husband, Eddie Jones; brothers, Tommy Ryals and wife Barbara, Jack Ryals and wife, Tressie, and William Ryals; sisters, Marjorie Paul and husband, Junior, Dorothy Gamelin and husband, Lucky, Claria George and husband, Ray. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Penni Calhoun and husband, Joshua; stepson, Sammy Jones and wife, Krissie; stepdaughter, Amanda Jones; grandchildren, Devin Adams, Anthony Graves and wife, Samantha, and Johnathan Graves; and great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Lowery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honoring Martha as pallbearers will be Christopher Mjaseth, Michael Jones, Daniel Jones, Allen Whorton and Curtis Jones.
The family would like to express special thanks to Caddo Fire District 4 and Balentine Ambulance for their help and support in Martha's time of need.
