Martha Margaret Harrison Juliani, age 101, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away peacefully at Saint Margaret Hall/Care Core Nursing Home in Cincinnati, Ohio on Tuesday July 8th. She passed away from complications of a stroke.
She went by her middle name, Margaret and was born in Rectorville Ky on April 29
1924. She was the second youngest of six children, the daughter of Thomas Handy
Harrison and Alice Kathryn Hamrick Harrison. She grew up and was raised on a large tobacco farm in Mason County Kentucky. Margaret enjoyed the freedom and beauty of growing up in rural Kentucky, she herself would often say that she was quite the tomboy.
She graduated from Minerva High School in 1942. Upon graduating, she moved to
Cincinnati, Ohio where she attended business school to become a secretary. After
completing her secretarial training, she worked at The William Powell Company Valves Manufacturing on Spring Grove Avenue in Cincinnati.
While enjoying her career at The William Powell Valves Company, she met Dominick
Juliani at a restaurant in Over The Rhine. Dominick approached Margaret, using the
oldest line in the book, "Haven't we met somewhere before?". They began dating, soon after married and started a family. Shortly after the birth of her second child, she decided to become a stay at home mom. Margaret went on to have two daughters, after the birth of her two sons.
She was a homemaker and devoted mother to her four children. She raised her children in the Clifton Methodist Church where she was an active member and volunteered in various capacities.
She was an avid walker, enjoyed baking, playing the piano, and watching old movies; her favorite of the latter being Gone With The Wind.
Margaret was known for her kind and genuine spirit; always smiling, laughing and never complaining. She was greatly loved by family, friends and the community she became a part of at St. Margaret Hall/Care Core.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dominick Juliani, her parents
Thomas and Alice Kathryn Harrison, brothers Carter and Thomas Harrison, sisters
Minnie Frances Diemer, Helen Elizabeth Brown, Eva Chastine Lucas and baby sister Jo Alice Harrison.
She is survived by her children Philip Giuliani, Sidney (Laura) Juliani, Gloria (Mike)
Duncan, and Diane (Jerel) Giglotti; and grandchildren Philip Duncan, Danielle Duncan, Maggie Juliani, Kate Juliani, & Renae Giglotti.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 16th from 4-6PM at Thomas-Justin Memorial, 7500 Montgomery Rd. (45236) Kenwood.
