Martha Francis Keoun

Martha Francis Keoun, a devout Christian and a beacon of love and wisdom, was called home to the Lord on December 4, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on December 22, 1938, in Cotton Valley, Louisiana, Martha's journey of faith and service began, a journey that would touch countless lives with her kindness and grace. She passed away peacefully in Longview, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones.
Martha's life was one of dedication and love, not just to her family but to all those she met. She was the beloved wife of the late James Keoun and the cherished mother of David and Donald Keoun, and Danyelle Meyer. Though she faced the heart-wrenching loss of her daughter Dianne Lindell, son-in-law Brian Lindell, Martha's strength and faith never wavered. Her sisters, Dena Ambler and Mary Knuckles, stood by her through thick and thin, sharing in the joys and sorrows of life.
As a mother-in-law to Melanie and Maria Keoun, and John Meyer, Martha extended her love and embraced them as her own. She was a proud grandmother to Jessica Maddox, Joni Green, and Justin Gable, Apolonia Medrano, Jerri Wilkerson, Journey Keoun, Kim and Sophie Keoun, Garrett Allsup, and Brooks and Anne Meyer, Bailey, and Benjamin Meyer. Her joy was multiplied with the arrival of numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom brought a warmth to her heart.
Martha's career as a seamstress and a Licensed Vocational Nurse was a testament to her caring nature and her desire to bring comfort and healing to others. Her education from the Kilgore College Nursing Program laid the foundation for a life of service that was felt by many through her gentle touch and compassionate care.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Martha's belief in the Lord was unwavering and she lived by the words of Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." This scripture guided her through life's trials and triumphs, providing solace and strength.
Martha's interests were as diverse as her talents. She had an enduring love for old movies and the timeless music of Elvis. Her passion for music extended to experiencing the magic of musicals at the Dallas Summer Musicals, which she cherished deeply. In her younger days, Martha's adventurous spirit took her to new places, as she loved to travel and explore the world.
Described by those who knew her as faith-filled, interesting, and analytical, Martha approached life with a curious mind and always wanted to keep up with the happenings of everyone. She had a unique ability to see the details in the grand tapestry of life, always trusting in God's plan.
To have known Martha was to have witnessed a life lived with purpose and grace. Her legacy is one of faith, hope, and love-a legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.
As we celebrate Martha's life and mourn her passing, we are reminded of the words of Saint Augustine, "Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe." Martha's faith was the light that led her, and now she sees the glory she always believed in. Her memory will forever be treasured, and her spirit will continue to guide us until we meet again in the presence of our Heavenly Father.
