Martha Raye (Johnston) Korrell, of Aberdeen, passed away peacefully at Portneuf Medical Center on June 9, 2024; she was 83 years old.
Martha was born May 19, 1941 in Idaho Falls and grew up on the family farm in Monteview where she learned to love the outdoors and her many cats. She graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1959 and had 3 children with her first husband Joseph Smuin. She later worked at Lamb-Weston where she met and married Earl Korrell and then Pleasant Valley Potato as a floor manager. Martha and Earl enjoyed many years of camping, riding 4-wheelers and perusing garage sales before his passing in 1999.
Martha is survived by her sons Larry Smuin (Jennifer) and Jerry Smuin; grandchildren; Ronald, Larry, Joshua, and Jacob; and great-grandchildren, Zoey, Maverick and Sophie; all of Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Korrell; her parents, Mabel & Horres Johnston; her precious little girl Linda Smuin (2), and granddaughter Sara (15).
Martha was a member of the LDS church, loving her role as a primary teacher and her involvement in relief society.
Martha was a resident of Aberdeen for almost half her life and was so thankful for her wonderful friends with whom she spent holidays, birthdays, and even vacations. She will be so greatly missed by her family and friends.
