Mrs. Martha Phillips Levens, 84, of Resaca and formerly of LaGrange, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Pruitt Health-Shepherd Hills in LaFayette, GA.
Mrs. Levens was born August 29, 1941, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late William George Phillips and Burldean Christine Williams Phillips. A resident of LaGrange most of her life, she had lived in Resaca since 2017, was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and retired as an inspector from Duracell after 20 years of service. She enjoyed arts and crafts and enjoyed coloring books and working puzzles.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane Hamlin (Wayne Hamlin) of Resaca; grandchildren, Keith Hamlin (Patricia Hamlin), Scotty Hamlin (Michelle Beavers), Margaret Smith, David Pressley, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Geraldine McCullough of Luthersville, Nancy Johnson of Manchester; brothers, Fred Phillips and Frank Phillips, both of Warm Springs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Levens; daughter, Linda Joyce Pressley; and brothers, Howard Phillips, A. C. Phillips, G. T. Phillips, and Oscar Phillips.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jody Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8.
