Martha Mary Loos

Martha Mary Loos, 102, of Kent, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at Gables at KentRidge. She was born January 30, 1916 in Kent to Frank and Bessie (Wronska) Pudloski. She was an active member of St. Patrick Church where she was a regular attendee at Adoration on Tuesdays. For years, she played cards with the Thursday's Euchre group at St. Patrick Church, and was an enthusiastic bowler. Martha and her husband, Bill, were the third-generation owners of Loos' Grocery Store on Franklin Avenue. After retiring from the grocery, she worked for and retired from Parker Hannifin in Kent, with over thirty years of service. She is survived by her son, Robert W. (MaryJo) Loos of Mesquite, NV; daughter, Sandy Smith of Akron; grandchildren, Chris Loos of Mesquite, NV, Robin Smith of Akron, Kim (George) Hurst of Akron, and Matthew (Sherry) Loos of Suffield; and great grandchildren, Samantha Loos, Holly Loos, and Makayla Loos. She was preceded in death by her husband, William in 1973; brothers, Roman Pudloski and Raymond Pudloski; and sister, Stella Giovangnoli. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Friday, June 1st at St. Patrick Church with Father Richard Pentello officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services at the church. Burial will be held at Standing Rock Cemetery.
