Martha Clayton O'Flynn, age 82 (lovingly known as Janie to her family) passed away on November 23, 2023.
Teaching was Martha's life work and passion. Martha began her teaching career at Utica and retired from Burns Middle School. Martha was an avid reader and bridge player who enjoyed traveling the world extensively with some of her dearest friends. She was a graduate of Daviess County High School and Western Kentucky University. Martha was a generous supporter of the less fortunate.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents Stirman and Marjorie Lebold Clayton, her daughter Julie O'Flynn and brother William "Bill" Clayton.
Martha is survived by her sister, Barbara Clayton Drysdale of Carmichael, CA, nieces Laura Clayton (Dwayne) Hagan, Susan Clayton (Rich) Folga, great niece Ashley Hagan, great nephews Cody Hagan, Ryan Hagan, Eric Hagan and Alex Folga as well as many beloved great-great nieces and nephews.
Services will be 4:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023 at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Private burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Expression of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Masonville Methodist Church, Food Pantry, 2810 Old Masonville Loop, Utica, KY 42376.
