Martha Ogorek, a longtime resident of Hockessin, DE Age 97 passed peacefully on July 30,2025.

Martha lived in Hockessin for over 85 years. She grew up on Evanson Road where her family had a 100 acre farm. She always recalled riding her horse in the fields surrounding her home and riding to get the mail at the Hockessin Post Office on Old Lancaster Pike.

Martha was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and jigsaw puzzles. Her career began in the Hockessin Elementary School Library followed by a position in the New Castle County Library Processing Center. She also served as the Administrative Assistant for the founder of the Del Tech Dental Hygiene Program. Martha completed her career at Zeneca working in the Research Library.

Martha enjoyed attending many AI DuPont High School Basketball games with her husband watching their sons play. She spent her summers growing up in Stone Harbor, NJ and later along with her family.

In addition to her parents Manley and Jennie White, Martha is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Edward Ogorek, son Thomas Ogorek, sister Sarah Ford and brother Austin White.

She is survived by her son James Ogorek(Carol) of Tallahassee, FL, Daughter Diane Buchanan of Hypoluxo, FL, son Patrick Ogorek( Kim) of Bear, DE, son Jeffrey Ogorek(Sharyn) of Delray Beach, FL, daughter in law, Deborah Ogorek, Hockessin, DE, Twelve grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Martha's family would like to thank Cadia Rehabilitation of Middletown, DE, Brookdale Assisted Living, Hockessin, DE and the AccentCare Hospice Team.

Burial will be private at the Friends Meeting House Cemetery, Hockessin, DE at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation in memory of Martha to Hockessin Fire Company, 1225 Old Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707.
