Martha E. Powers Long, age 92, of Rock Cave, the Arlington Community, died on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Upshur County on November 26, 1932, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel McCray Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Verl Gene Powers and her second husband, Donald L. Long; four sisters: Onalea Hoke, Leota Holderbaum, Mary Cutright, and Hildred Lake; one brother, Thomas Crawford.
She is survived by four sons: Terry W. Powers and wife Sharon of French Creek, Tink Powers and wife Jennifer of Buckhannon, Abel and wife Sherry Powers of Rock Cave and Larry Powers and companion Valerie Lycett of Rock Cave; grandchildren: Brad Powers, Andrea Brown, Amber Powers, Niki Wilson, Dale Gene Powers, Jenna Phillips, Jacob Powers and step grandson, Cody Brown; great grandchildren: Gavin Brown, Ashlynn Brown, Deven Wilson, Tristen Boatright, Raicer Boatright, Seth Warner, Oakley, Azlynne and Bristol Powers, Journey Phillips, and step great grandchildren, Arianna and Levi Brown; one sister, Jean Rounds and husband Bruce of Carthage, NY.
Martha was a member of the Aletha Chapter No. 82 Order of Eastern Star. She helped start and was the Director of the Upshur County Senior Center for twenty-seven years. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Glenville State College.
