Martha Rayshell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watson Funeral Home & Memorial Park - Winchester on Feb. 26, 2026.
Martha Jo Rayshell, age 83, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on February 25, 2026, peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 15, 1942, in Portageville, Missouri, to the late Raymond and Dathel (McCoy) Pugh. Jo was truly a classy lady with a warm and outgoing personality. She was a faithful member of Barfield Baptist Church in Murfreesboro and was deeply devoted to her faith. Jo worked alongside her beloved husband, Larry, on their farm, where they built a life centered around hard work and family. She also sold western tack and had a special love for horses. Farming was not just work for her; it was a way of life that she treasured. In addition to her work on the farm, Jo had a very successful career in automobile sales. She sold cars for many years and was frequently recognized as a top sales agent, earning numerous awards for her outstanding performance and dedication. Jo also enjoyed sewing and cooking, especially preparing meals for elderly friends and neighbors who were unable to cook for themselves. Serving others brought her great joy. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and the love she showed to everyone around her. Jo will be remembered for her grace, unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and the love she poured into her family, friends, and community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Rayshell. She is survived by her loving children, Pennie (Greg) Ferguson, Terrie (Jim) Holland, and Sandy (Greg) Brooks; grandchildren, Jodie Campbell, T.J. Neal, Jessie Foster, and Madison Brooks; great-grandchildren, Andrew Neal, Logan Neal, and Stella Foster; brother, Bobby (Cheryl) Davidson; and sister-in-law, Debbie (Mike) Eaton. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with interment to follow in Watson Memorial Park.
