Martha L. Reed, 68, from Zanesville, Ohio went to be with her Savior on August 5, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Iva Somers. She leaves behind to continue in her legacy, her husband, Bob Reed, of 37 years; sons, Bob (Karen) Reed and Michael (Amanda) Reed; daughters, Angela (Paul Michael) Frazier, Christy (Sam) Marlowe, and Katrina Reed. Her grandchildren, Rob, Justin, Ryan, Joshua, Matthew, Elijah, Miles, Ethan, Liam, Emma, and John. Her sister, Violet; brother, Eddie; aunt, Betty and many other family members and friends. Martha is proceeded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Reed.
Martha’s life was full of faith, love, kindness, spunk, and memories. She loved her family beyond measure, always spoiling them. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Martha graduated from Zanesville High School in 1975 and continued her schooling to become a nurse where she served helping and loving others for many years. Martha enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, crocheting, singing, puzzles, reading, watching her game shows, especially Price is Right, and her favorite western, Gunsmoke.
Martha’s legacy is the perfect example of a life well loved. She cherished her family and lived with unwavering faith, showing how to love like Jesus. She made holidays special, especially with her one of a kind Christmas Sugar Cookies. Brightening those she loved with a text each morning that read “Good morning honey love you.” She didn’t know a stranger, but rather called everyone "honey", meaning it with all of her heart and she treated everyone she met with warmth, love, and kindness.
As we mourn the passing of the sweetest, most loving lady that Martha was, we find peace knowing that she is with her Savior and wrapping her arms around her baby girl.
Visitation will be Saturday August 9, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service to follow at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432).
