David Reed Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daley-Murphy-Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium on Mar. 14, 2026.
David M. "Dave" Reed, 69, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 in Beloit Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family after a short battle with lung cancer.

He was born October 18, 1956 in Beloit, WI, the son of William Raymond and Florence Belle (Rawson) Reed. Dave was a graduate of Clinton High School. He married Karen Louise Gearing on May 3, 1975.

Dave was formerly employed by Beloit Corporation and Pro Arc in Loves Park, IL. He worked to support the family that he loved dearly. He was an avid deer hunter until his first born grandchild Mikayla was born in November during deer hunting season. He loved to fish and ice fish. Dave was a collector of many things but mostly anything Willie Nelson. Dave loved spending time with his family either camping, fishing, hunting, or just a BBQ at the house. His youngest daughter (his birthday present) was his little tom boy. Together they enjoyed working on cars, making things from wood, hunting and fishing but most importantly cutting wood together to heat the house. Dave loved going to bingo with the love of his life as they spent 50 years of marriage together.

Survivors include his loving wife, Karen; children, Tammy (Rob) Seidemann and Rebecca (Joshua) Harrington; grandchildren, Mikayla Perring, Katherine and Stephen Seidemann; great grandchildren, Serena, Scarlette, Damien and Xander; many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts; in-laws, Dennis (Shelly) Gearing, Donnie (Wendy) Gearing, Linda (David) Waelchli and William Mulholland; other relatives and friends.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nabrinsky, the staff at Beloit Memorial Hospital and the nurses at Beloit Regional Hospice for the care that was given to Dave.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Cynthia Mulholland; brother, William Reed; father-in-law and mother-in-law; special niece, Stephanie Waelchli; aunts, uncles, cousins; his beloved dog, Copper Jack and his special friend, Tony Groell.

A visitation of remembrance for Dave will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2026 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, followed by a Graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Shopiere Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in Dave's name to the family.
