Daniel D. Hogan

Daniel D. Hogan, 84, of Eagle River, WI died Monday, December 29, 2025, surrounded by his family following a battle with cancer. He was born August 31, 1941, in Clinton, WI to the late Clarence and Marie (Brockly) Hogan.
Daniel was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1959. In 1965, he married Carole Jean Clay. She preceded him in death on July 19, 2022. Immediately after high school, Daniel got into construction work as a carpenter and ran construction jobs all over the country. Afterwards he moved his family to Platteville where he worked for Kraemer Brothers. He also opened up a cabinet shop where he made cabinets and furniture for many Platteville businesses. After his son graduated high school, he and Carole moved to Eagle River, WI where he worked for Waldmann Construction, Inc. until his retirement. In Eagle River Daniel and Carole built their log home. During his retirement, Daniel took up gunsmithing while enjoying spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
Daniel is survived by his son, Daniel J. Hogan; his grandsons, Conner Hogan, Dylan Hogan, and Brady Hogan; a sister, Marilyn Dorn; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank Hogan and John Hogan; and a sister, Barb Mortison.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date in Eagle River, WI.
