Martha Jean (P'Simer) Roberts, age 82, of
Corryton, TN, passed away at the farm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.
She was born to Orville and Hazel P'Simer in Dille, West Virgina, on September 14, 1941.
Though she earned her associate degree in business administration and was awarded the safe driver award from the Knoxville Police Department, her greatest achievement was the role she played as a wife, mother, sister and friend.
Earlier in life she loved gardening, canning, freezing and anything to do with a garden or growing plants. She always loved painting and drawing. She was artistically creative in many ways and dabbled in a variety of arts and crafts. She loved to read and when she couldn't get around so much anymore, she loved to watch movies, especially Call of the Mid-Wife. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and they loved spending time with her. She was always giving them gum, sweets and letting them play games on her tablet. She loved our dad, babies and raising her family with him.
We are so sad to lose our mother, but so grateful that she is now in her new body and in the loving arms of Jesus. We know Dad and Brett are with her now, as well as her parents and siblings and many others that went before her. She had such a beautiful, feisty, nurturing, and loving spirit. She was extremely artistically talented in painting and drawing. She loved painting us all special paintings for Christmas. She loved collecting rocks and driftwood from the mountains, lakes and creeks, etc.
Our mother and father met in elementary school and our Dad liked to tell the story of the first time they met. He said the first time he laid eyes on her he knew she was who he wanted to marry. They dated all through high school and got married and started a family. We had such a wonderful upbringing. Our Mom and Dad loved the same things and loved sharing life with their children...all 5 of us. We were always taught to love God and nature and be good respectful, honest, honor your word type of individuals. We enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping at Citico Creek, trips to the beach every year and spending many wonderful weekends at the Cabin on Norris Lake. Our Mom and Dad had so many wonderful friends that we got to experience life with too. Our Dad could make friends with a fence post and Mom would be right there with him. She was so special in so many ways that it seems impossible to be able to sum up all the memories and things about her that make her so special to us in a few paragraphs here. We will continue to love her and miss her and celebrate everything about her and her wonderful life for as long as we live. While our hearts are shattered and we will miss her terribly, it gives us peace to know she is in Heaven with him again and no longer suffering. We will miss her so very much.
