Martha B. Schulken, 71, entered into eternal rest on November 17, 2025.
Martha was born on January 4, 1954, to the late W. Cecil and RosaLee Berry of Branchville, SC. She grew up grounded in family, faith, and compassion-qualities that shaped her life and guided her work as an educator. Marty devoted many years to teaching and working with children, nurturing young minds with patience, kindness, and a genuine love for helping others learn and grow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one brother.
Martha is survived by her three children-Danny of Goose Creek, SC; Katie of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and Nikki of Columbia, SC-who will forever carry her love and guidance in their hearts. She was a devoted grandmother to Elizabeth of Mt. Pleasant; Lee and Ellie of Goose Creek; and Max of Columbia, and a proud great-grandmother to Ava Thorne of Mt. Pleasant. She is also survived by her brother Wayne Berry.
Those who knew Marty remember her as a woman who never met a stranger, never made an enemy, and walked through life with a heart of gold. Her gentle spirit, generosity, and unwavering kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
Martha's legacy lives on in the values she instilled, the lives she touched, and the memories cherished by all who loved her.
There will be a celebration of life in Mount Pleasant, SC at Hibben United Methodist Church, on January 3rd, 2026 at 2 pm.
