Martha "Sue" Shine, 80, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sue was born on August 27, 1945, in Silsbee, Texas. She spent her early years there before beginning a life that would take her to several places she called home, including Utah, Louisiana, and Tyler, Texas. In time, she settled in Fort Worth, where she built a community and a life filled with faith, family, and friendship.

Sue worked for more than 40 years in industrial chemical sales, building a successful career through her strong work ethic and genuine relationships. One of her favorite and most fun side roles was working with the Texas Rangers, where she helped distribute tickets to the families and friends of players-a job she truly enjoyed.

Sue's greatest joy in life was her family. She adored her four grandchildren and loved sharing stories about them with anyone she met. In fact, Sue never met a stranger, and it didn't take long for people to hear about her "four perfect grandkids."

Her faith was central to her life. Sue loved Jesus deeply and faithfully served her church community for more than 35 years at Christ Church, now known as Movement City. Through her kindness, warmth, and servant's heart, she left a lasting impact on countless people.

Sue also had a personality as vibrant as the clothes she loved to wear. Bright colors and bold prints filled her closet, and she was rarely seen in anything subtle. She was also the proud collector of what we're confident may have been the world's largest assortment of anything and everything lemon-themed-something some might say perfectly matched her occasionally sour (and always sassy) disposition.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell Shine and Myrtle Holshouser; her brother, Darrell D. Shine; and her son-in-law, Robert Humphreys.

She is survived by her daughters, Robyn Humphreys and Ginger (Paul) Reed; her beloved grandchildren, Hannah Humphreys, Ben Humphreys, Molly Reed, and Riley Reed; her sisters, Sarah (Ed) Hendrix and Nancy Shine; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Sue's life was a testament to her faith in Jesus, and her family takes comfort knowing she is now in Heaven with her Savior completely healed and talking everyone's ear off again.

Sue was one of the first ladies I met when I came to Movement City Church. We had a special connection because my middle name is Sue as well. She was so sweet and always made me feel welcome. She will be dearly missed but I know she's with the Lord.
I pray for comfort, Peace and strength for her family and her many friends.
