Martha Shoemaker

Martha Shoemaker, 72, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Born March 2, 1953, Martha had been a resident of Dawson County for over 30 years. She was of Christian faith and attended Chestatee Worship Center. Martha spent her life taking care of her family and raised many children. She was a small lady with a huge heart and would help anyone that she could. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Martha "Squeaky" Moss Donahue; parents, Jack and Mattie Forehand; siblings, Jackie, Buddy, Gary, Larry, Jack and Marie.

Martha is survived by her children, Rebecca Clement (Mark) and Troy Moss, Jr., all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Keith Powell of Dawsonville, Robin Chitwood (Jeff) of Dawsonville, Katherine Barnes (Lance) of Dahlonega, Zackary Moss of Dawsonville, Emily Head (Josh) of Dahlonega; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Harleigh, Chloey, Karsen, Camille, Kaleb, Logan, Kolton, Nathan, Noah, Nicholas, Addison; great-great-grandson, Waylon; sister, Victoria Martin of Cumming; companion of many years, Herbert Shoemaker, Sr. of Dawsonville; other relatives.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Chestatee Worship Center.
