MARTHA ANN “CHUBBY” SMITH, age 87, of Strawberry Plains, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2024. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Dandridge for over 40 years. She was a beloved wife and mom and Mammaw Chubby to her many grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Mitchell Smith; parents, Homer and Letta Lowery; four sisters and one brother. She is survived by her sons, Steve and Tim Smith; daughters, Sue (Eric) Foster, Brenda (Scott) Gann, Carol Howard, Ann Foster and Tina Smith; special son-in-law Jeff (Teresa) Johnson; 18 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. A visitation will take place on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Grace Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 7:00pm with Brother Perry Davis and Brother Allen Smith officiating. Graveside interment services will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00am at Grace Baptist Church Cemetery.
