Mrs. Martha Ann Pearson Spence, age 90, of Carriere, passed away Thursday evening, September 11, 2025. She was born June 26, 1935, in Pearl River County, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Enos Pearson and Willie Kirkland Pearson Lee.

Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Barney Oreece Spence; a brother, Sammy Kaye Lee; a niece, Carla McQueen Primeaux; and a great granddaughter, Paisley Claire Sheasby.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Picayune and worked for many years in the fields of banking and medical administration in the New Orleans area before retiring to Carriere, Mississippi. She enjoyed working at The Glass Porch, creating beautiful silk arrangements, tending to her gardens and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Martha is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy (Lou) Spence Moré Heavner of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Becky (Scott) Spence Sheasby of Carriere, Mississippi; grandchildren, Jeremy (Amy Leah) Sheasby of Carriere, Mississippi, Amanda Spiers of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Jami (Cody) Whitfield of Carriere, Mississippi, Mechelle Moré of Cincinnati, Ohio, Andrew Moré of Yellowstone, Wyoming, John (Hannah) Moré of Erlanger, Kentucky; great grandchildren, Aaliyah Rodriguez, Steele Sheasby, Bently Whitfield, Ryder Sheasby, Havyn Rodriguez, Selah Sheasby, Beau Whitfield, Harbor Spiers, and Brixtyn Spiers; sister, Claudette Heasley; sister-in-law, Nell (Jimmy) Spence Stewart; and nephew, Kevin Seal (Andrea). She also leaves many other family members and friends who will greatly miss her.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church of Picayune with Dr. Tony Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.

Martha's family will serve as pallbearers.
