Goss-Spears Life Celebration Home - Enosburg FallsRICHFORD - Martha A. Sweet age 85, peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on February 22nd, 1940, in Berkshire, VT to the late Harold and Clara (Green) Wetherby.
Throughout her years, Martha found joy in simple pleasures. She had a creative spirit and thoroughly enjoyed attending the "Care Partners" group, where she delighted in making crafts and expressing herself through coloring. She looked forward to lively board game nights at the rec center with her friends, where laughter and camaraderie filled the air. Martha's love for cooking shone brightly when she gathered with her friends to share meals and memories. She was particularly fond of handcrafting Barbie clothes for her beloved daughter, Kathy, and creating beautiful jewelry alongside her daughter, Kay. Gardening was another passion of hers, where she found peace and fulfillment nurturing the earth.
Martha is survived by her children, Kathy Hope and her daughter Dakota Hope, Kay Kilduff, and Elvin Sweet; grandchildren, Jesse Sweet, Dylan Sweet and Eric Sweet; brother, Fred Wetherby Sr.; 1 great-grandson; several nieces and nephews; niece-in-law, Mary Wetherby and her husband John; sister-in-law, Ola Wetherby; special friends, Ilene Cooper, Maxine Farr, Peggy Smith, Sharron Kennison, Diane Doe, Jackie and Raymond Meunier and Ginger and Laural. In addition to her parents, Martha was pre-deceased by her siblings, June Swift, Mickey Wetherby, Harold Wetherby Jr., and Albert Wetherby; son-in-law, Chris Hope; sisters-in-law, Jackie Wetherby.
Friends & family are invited to Martha's life celebration to include a graveside memorial service on Tuesday October 28th, 2025, at 2:00 PM, located at the All-Saints Cemetery in Richford.
