Martha Jane Williams Farmer, age 88 of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. She was born in Elora on January 14, 1934, to the late Stonewall Jackson and Casha Mae (Scivally) Williams and grew up on a cotton farm. A devoted homemaker, Martha kept the family home tidy, and enjoyed working in her garden. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed canning. But most of all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family and community of friends and neighbors. Martha served as a volunteer at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems during the 1980's. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Carlton Williams, Hue Williams, Billy Williams, and Juanita Jacobs. Martha is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Robert Farmer; children, Janice (Ronnie) Ray, Linda Simpson (Mark) Gass, and Betsy (Drew) Pearson; grandchildren, Melony (Jim) Malone, Misty (Chris) Moses, Joshua Simpson, and Jacob (Taylor) Simpson; great-grandchildren, Kaylee (Alex) Noles, Hunter Thomas, Hannah Thomas, and Camden Simpson; great-great-grandson, Owen Noles; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Ronnie Ray officiating. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Rowe Williams, Joshua Simpson, Jacob Simpson, Mark Gass, Drew Pearson, and Jim Malone serving as pallbearers.
