Martin Joseph Boyle

Martin Joseph Boyle, 82, a lifelong resident of the Bay Area, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025.

Born on August 7, 1943, at St. Mary's Hospital in San Francisco, Martin completed his education at Saint Ignatius High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Santa Clara University in 1966 and a Master of Public Administration degree from San Francisco State University in

1978. He proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Martin went on to serve the Bay Area transportation engineering community for over 32 years, with his work benefiting the cities of Fremont, San Francisco, Hayward, and Walnut Creek. •

A true Bay Area sports fan, Martin enjoyed watching football, baseball, basketball, and hockey, and was a dedicated supporter of the 49ers, Giants, Sharks, and Warriors. He also had a lifelong passion for listening to jazz music and treasured moments spent with his family and enjoying good food.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois; his son, Kevin; his brother, Michael; his grandson, Damon; and his great-granddaughter, Amara.

Services will be held at Darling and Fischer in San Jose on December 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.
