Martin Gallagher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Egan-Ryan Funeral Service - Northwest Chapel on Feb. 19, 2026.
Martin Edward Gallagher, 64, a lifetime resident of Clintonville, passed away peacefully at home on February 12, 2026, after a long illness.

Born on June 15, 1961, Marty was known for his charm, mischievous spirit, and generous heart. The fourth of seven children, he had a magnetic personality and knew no strangers. He moved through life without judgment and with deep kindness.

Marty's greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Tara Ryan-Gallagher. They shared a love of literature and reading, and he was endlessly proud of her and the woman she has become. Throughout his illness, Tara and his brother Tom were steady, loving sources of support.

Proud of his Irish heritage and a loyal (if long-suffering) Cleveland Browns fan, Marty worked for many years in the hospitality industry, where his warmth and ease with people served him well.

After their mother's passing in 2003, Marty devoted more than two decades to caring for his sister, Colleen, remaining her loyal advocate and companion until her death in 2024 - a reflection of his deep devotion to family.

He is reunited in heaven with his parents, Tom and Ann Gallagher, and his sister, Colleen, and his aunt, Collen Gallagher, O.P. He is survived by his daughter, Tara Ryan-Gallagher; his siblings Tom (Janice), Pat (Allyson), Michael, Mary (Todd Goehring), and Annie (Jim Hilz); and nine nieces and nephews.

Marty attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and graduated from St. Charles Preparatory School, Class of 1979.

Friends may call on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at Egan-Ryan Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road, followed by a brief memorial service which will begin at 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Marty with an act of kindness to someone in your natural or chosen family or by donating to the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center in his memory.
