Martin Charles "Marty" Jespersen, 70, of San Angelo, TX (formerly of Clarendon, PA), passed away due to complications from cancer surgery, Monday, June 6, 2022, at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, TX.
Marty was born December 19, 1951, in Jamestown, NY., the son of the late Kenneth L. Jespersen and Constance "Connie" Roberts-Jespersen of Russell, PA.
Having grown up working the family farm on Big Four Road in Russell, PA, Marty was a 1969 graduate of Eisenhower High School where he was active in the F.F.A., high school band, and state farm show. After graduating, he proudly served in the United States Air Force as a helicopter specialist and rescue expert out of Williams Air Force Base in Chandler, AZ, performing reconnaissance, research and special missions during the Vietnam War. Following his time in the Air Force, Marty logged countless miles as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for nearly 50 years. He was owner of Fluid Management Systems of Clarendon, PA in the late 80's and early 90's. He also worked for Crossett, Inc. (Warren, PA), Falconer Glass (Falconer, NY), Quality Carriers (Clarion, PA), IA Construction (Franklin, PA), Tidioute Oil (Tidioute, PA), and Willoughby Trucking (Houston, TX). He retired in 2017 as a senior driver for Peterbilt (Denton, TX) delivering new trucks all over the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Marty was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, especially along the Texas and Florida Gulf Coasts. He loved to snowmobile and was a well-known rider on the winter trails from Chapman Dam to Tidioute. He enjoyed maintaining the ponds by Chapman Dam and helping his family with the dirt track and tractor pulls at the annual Warren County Fair. He also loved socializing as an active member of the Clarendon VFW and Mineral Well. He moved to Texas in 2012 to be closer to his sons, Tim, Dana, and Andy Jespersen. He was a huge animal lover and deeply missed his beloved cat, Bobby and dog, Pepper. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Marty is preceded in death by his father Kenneth Leroy Jespersen, mother Constance Louise "Connie" Roberts-Jespersen, and brother Larry Kenneth Jespersen. He is survived by brother Jerry Jespersen and wife, Marita of Russell, PA; brother Byron Jespersen and wife, Janet of Russell, PA; sister Karen Rosier and husband, Jim of Springboro, PA. He leaves behind daughter Jennifer Tuttle of Colonie, NY; son Timothy Jespersen and wife, Gin of Plano, TX; son Dana Jespersen and fiancé, Miranda of McKinney, TX; son Andrew Jespersen and wife, Sharon of Pearland, TX; five grandsons; two granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
