Elmer Andrew Jespersen

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elmer Andrew Jespersen, who departed this life peacefully, after a brief illness, at the age of 88, on February 13, 2026.

Elmer was born on December 4, 1937 to Roland and Elfrieda Jespersen in Onoway, Alberta.

Elmer worked in Oil & Gas, in the Fox Creek, AB area his entire career. He married Shirley Roberts (2012) in 1958, and together they raised 5 children.

His passion in life was blessing people through singing and playing piano in church, at care homes (namely Bethany Care in Cochrane, AB), and on main Street in Cochrane outside The Tavern, where he met people from all over the world!

Elmer is survived by his children Sheryl de Leeuw (Earl), Melodie Aspin (Derek), Cindy Martens (Darcy) & Debie Jespersen (Kim's Wife); his grandchildren, Nathan Jespersen (Sarah), Jared Jespersen, Lauren Wilson (Jared), Jesse Jespersen, Daign de Leeuw, Micah Jespersen, Arynn Maggert (Luke), Janelle Carrier (Reuben), Nicole Bakos (Shain), Evan Martens, Haley Martens, Aidan Aspin; great-grandchildren, Dash, Daisy Clyde, Waylon, Wyatt and Josie.

He was predeceased by his wife Shirley of 54 years (2012), his sons Kim Jespersen (2024) and Kerry Jespersen (2015), his parents Roland and Elfreida Jespersen and sister Irene Hickey.

A funeral service will be held at the Cochrane Alliance Church (902 Glenbow Dr, Cochrane, AB) on Wednesday, February 25th at 1:00 pm
