Martin Lambert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caring Cremations - Chicago on Jan. 24, 2026.
Martin A. "Marty" Lambert, age 72, passed away on January 17, 2026, surrounded by family. Born in Chicago, Marty was known for his big heart, quick wit, and his ability to turn everyday moments into great conversations and even better memories.

Marty never met a stranger. He could talk to anyone, anywhere, and somehow always knew just what to say. He was funny, easygoing, and genuinely kind, with a gift for giving great advice-whether you asked for it or not. If you needed encouragement, honesty, or just someone to make you laugh, Marty was always ready.

Even when life got tough, Marty stayed strong. He faced challenges with determination, grace, and his signature sense of humor. He didn't let hard times change who he was-he kept showing up, kept caring, and kept reminding the people around him what really mattered.

A lifelong Chicago sports fan, Marty was especially loyal to the Chicago Cubs and Black Hawks. He loved being outdoors, watching games, telling stories, and spending time with the people he loved most. He also appreciated life's simple comforts-good company, a frozen pizza, and a cold Diet Coke. Marty had a deep love for cars and took great pride in caring for them. Detailing them wasn't just a hobby-it was something that brought him peace and joy, a reflection of the care and attention he gave to everything he loved.

Above all, Marty loved his family and was incredibly proud of them. He is survived by Maria Hernandez, Sergio Hernandez, Lindsay Lambert, Alexandra Lowe, Yvonne Lambert, Rosario Hernandez, Nathaniel Lowe, Codee Vermette, Jazmin Hernandez, and Jordyn Hernandez. If you ever heard Marty talk about his family, you knew just how lucky he felt. They were his loudest cheerleaders, his greatest joy, and the ones he loved more than anything.

Marty will be remembered in every Cubs game watched (win or lose), every story retold, and every piece of advice that still makes us smile. His love, strength, humor, and presence will never be forgotten.

The family is planning a celebration of life for a later date. Information will follow.
