Our conversations were always honest and from the heart. I always greeted him as Martin, my brother! Said with enthusiasm that anyone within earshot would know the sentiment was real. I could not pass The Laurel without thinking of him and Susan, and most times I stopped in for things I did not need but one thing I did, a conversation with Martin. I will do my best to carry on the kindnesses you shared with so many.
