Martin Rulnick

Martin Rulnick, of South Windsor, Connecticut, passed away on June 3, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Hartford on September 11, 1933, he was a proud graduate of the University of Connecticut and a lifelong learner with an insatiable curiosity.
Martin was the founder and longtime president of Martin Rulnick Associates, a successful manufacturers' representative firm specializing in electrical and ventilation equipment. For over 50 years, he built strong relationships throughout New England and New York, known for his intelligence, integrity, and sharp wit.
A man of language and intellect, Martin had a deep love of English, Latin, Spanish, and other languages. He took pleasure in the nuances of words, often keeping daily lists of obscure vocabulary on notepads. One of his fondest school memories was a professor's praise: "I like the way you handle the English language." That compliment stayed with him throughout his
life.
Martin's passion for Spanish extended beyond language-he was captivated by Latin music and culture. He collected hundreds of Latin records, frequently listened to Spanish broadcasts, and befriended radio station hosts who admired his encyclopedic knowledge of Latin music. He was also an expert ballroom dancer, performing styles from salsa to swing with flair. In fact, he once appeared on national television on the Sally Jessy Raphael Show, showcasing his talents.
He shared his love of music and dance with the love of his life, his late wife Lee Rulnick. Their partnership was filled with joy, rhythm, and grace. After her passing, Martin surrounded himself with photos of her throughout his home-a testament to his enduring devotion.
An avid reader and news enthusiast, Martin devoured newspapers daily and stayed current on world affairs. He was also a passionate sports fan and a lifelong gym-goer, where he mentored youth and his son, and known at his local gym for arriving at 5 a.m. sharp, into his 90s.
Martin is survived by his daughter, Wendy Hinzman and her husband Randy, and his son Ken Rulnick and his wife Christina. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lee. He will be remembered for his brilliant mind, magnetic charm, deep love of language and culture, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
