Martim E. Toohey, 87 of Foster died peacefully on Saturday, January 31st. Marty was the loving husband of Helen C. (Murray) Toohey.

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Anna (Gannon) Toohey. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Toohey of Cranston, and many loving nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Thomas J. Toohey, Jr., Nancy Kiernan, Helen Toohey, and James B. Toohey. He also leaves many dear friends in Rhode Island and New Hampshire with whom he shared wonderful memories over the years.

Mr. Toohey served in the United States Coast Guard and was a proud retired member of Local 51 Plumbers and Pipefitters. He was resident of Foster and Barlett, New Hampshire. For many years he and Helen spent the winter in Fort Myers, Florida following his beloved Red Sox. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends, especially the years playing in the Monday night league at Melody Hills Golf Course.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, February 6th in Saint Paul the Apostle Church, 116A Danielson Pike (Rt.6) Foster at 11 AM. Calling Hours Thursday February 5th, 3-5 PM in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory to St. Paul the Apostle Church or Little sisters of the Poor, Pawtucket. For condolences, please visit www.barrettandcotter.com
