Martina Benavente Obituary

Martina Benavente, 63, passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and unwavering determination.

Born in Torreón Mexico, Martina moved to Colorado after marrying the love of her life, the late Efraín Benavente, with whom she shared a deep and joyful partnership until his passing in 2015. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in family and the belief that hard work and humor could get you through just about anything.

Martina was the proud and devoted mother of three daughters, who were—and will forever be—her greatest source of pride. For more than twenty five years, she served as the kitchen manager at Polton Elementary School, where her warmth and creativity transformed mealtimes into moments of joy. She was known for dressing up the kitchen for every holiday, crafting decorations that sparkled with her spirit, and organizing playful giveaway games that delighted the children and staff alike. Her laughter filled the halls, and her stubborn determination ensured that everyone around her reached for the best version of themselves.

Martina’s two grandchildren became the light of her later years. They inherited her wit, her fierce spirit, and her unmatched ability to find humor even in life’s toughest moments. To them, she was not just “Abue,” but a guiding force and the heart of the family.

Those who knew Martina will remember her as a woman who met every challenge with courage, who loved deeply, and who gave endlessly. She will be missed beyond measure, but her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched—with every laugh, every act of kindness, and every stubborn insistence that things be done just right.

May her soul rest in peace, and may her laughter echo forever in our hearts.
