Martina Cardona

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Martina Rangel Cardona, 85, passed away on September 29th, 2025, in Moses Lake, Washington surrounded by her loving children. Martina was born on June 17th, 1940, in Piedras Niegras, Mexico to Fernando Rangel and Petra Fieros. In 1956, she married Manuel R. Cardona in Carrizo Springs, Texas. They moved to Moses Lake, WA in 1969, where they lovingly raised eight children. John (Cindy) Cardona, Rosa (Eliazar) Bravo, Frances (Cesar) Martinez, Mari (David) Garcia, David (Lupita) Cardona, Elsa (David) Hunt, Daniel Cardona, Jessica (Zach) Castro. She leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Martina was known for her kind heart, generosity, strong faith, and family devotion. Whether through her kindness to neighbors, her support of family or the resilience she showed in times of challenge. Martina was a reflection of being welcoming, compassionate and always without judgment. Martina found joy in barbequing with her large family, tending to her garden, playing loteria, making her tamales and salsa, watching her novellas and old western cowboy movies. She loved cooking meals that gathered loved ones around her table. Her home was a place of laughter, comfort, and the simple joys she valued most. She treasured her lifetime friendships deeply and had a special place for her two dogs Romeo and Lucy. Martina's passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of many, her spirit lives on throughout the love she shared. To honor her memory, may we continue to show compassion, kindness, and service to others, as she always did. We will miss her Always, "Querida Madre." She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication to her family. Martina was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband Manuel, her son John, her daughter-in-law Cindy, and her son-in-law Cesar. A celebration of Martina's Life will be held at Our Lady of Fatima on October 7th, 2025. The rosary will begin at 10:00 am, followed by Mass at 10:30am. Following the service, burial will take place at Pioneer Memorial Service, with a reception immediately after for family and friends to gather and share memories. The service will also be live streamed on Facebook. The family deeply appreciates the care for mom, prayers, love, and support during this time of loss.
