Marty Gene Burditt was born on September 30, 1957, in Amarillo, Texas to his parents: Floyd Burditt and Betty S. (Miller) Burditt. After his mother remarried, his family moved to Michigan, making their home in Livonia. Marty attended Livonia Churchill High School, graduating in 1976. From there, he enlisted in the United States Air Force which enabled him to continue his education and earn his associate's degree from Saint Leo's College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

On January 9, 1981, Marty married the love of his life, Lynda Brailean. Together, they were blessed with the birth of a son: Brad. Marty served his country honorably in the Armed Forces for more than 18 years, working as a Munitions and Weapons Officer. After retiring from military service, Marty continued to work, being self-employed for several years as a licensed A&P mechanic and also as a saw operator for Kenco Steel. He was an excellent provider for his family, always finding ways to make things work. Above all else, Marty made sure he was always there for his family.

From his time in the service, Marty gained an appreciation for flying. He was a private pilot and even built his own airplane! Although he was very proud of his time serving in the Air Force, he was a humble man and preferred to live quietly. He never wanted to garner extra attention or fanfare. His humility was admired by all those who knew him.

Marty was incredibly handy, a "do-it-yourself kind of guy". He staunchly refused to hire anybody to fix things around the house. Instead, he learned how to do things by himself. With the skills he acquired through the years, Marty remodeled his home and rebuilt his deck. He loved keeping himself busy with various building projects and tinkering. In his free time, Marty enjoyed riding side-by-sides, snowmobiles, and classic cars, he loved his hot rods. Even after suffering right side paralysis from a stroke, he found ways to continue doing the things he loved.

Marty G Burditt, age 67, of Dundee passed away on Saturday; September 6, 2025, at Trinity Health Hospital in Ann Arbor. His passing was preceded by his parents and his stepfather: Frank Bachnak. To cherish his memory, Marty leaves his beloved wife: Lynda; a son: Brad Burditt; a brother: Ricky Burditt; his stepsister: Angela (Jose) Pivato; and several nieces and nephews.
