Marty Ray Ward was born in Caldwell, ID on January 7, 1974. He was preceded in death by his father William Irvin Ward, his mother Donna Chloe Ward, and his brother Michael Joe Ward. He is survived by his older sisters Connie Lyn Lewis and Cindy Sue Lewis; his niece Shawnte Burgandee Lewis and her two children Noah and Isabella; and his nephew Nathaniel Dustin Lewis and his wife Penny and his children Alison, Nathaniel Jr., and Kimberly.

He passed away in his ancestral home in Caldwell, on the morning of Monday, March 23, 2026.

Marty had a lifelong love of sports, inherited from his father at a young age; there was never a time in his life that he wasn't involved with some sort of athletics. He was most involved with the College of Idaho Athletics department and was an avid fan of the Steelers. Marty will be missed in the community; he never met a stranger and had a smile and hug ready for anyone. He was a light that walked through this world, his smile lit up a room, and his laugh was so infectious he had everyone in stitches. The road forward will be hard without his presence, although he will light the way.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday evening 5pm-8pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, ID. Memorial services will be held Thursday April 2, 2026, at 12:30pm at the Langroise Center for Performing and Fine Arts at the College of Idaho. Graveside service will be immediately following at Middleton Cemetery. To conclude the day, we will be having further gatherings at the Family Farm with food available to those in attendance.
