MARVA DAWN JOHNSON

Marva Dawn Johnson, Age 90, of
Vancouver, WA, passed away quietly on Dec, 23, 2024, following a brief illness.
Marva was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Pocatello, ID, the daughter of Norman Garner Bingham and Laura McBride.
Marva married Fletcher O. Johnson, Jr., in Seattle on June 27, 1952. Marva and Fletcher were married for 57 years until Fletcher passed away on April 6, 2009. Marva and Fletcher had two children, Thomas W. Johnson, and Cindy Johnson Byers.
Prior to retirement, Marva worked in banking and as a bookkeeper in the Seattle area and Vancouver.
Marva enjoyed spending time with her family, whether at a large family reunion or a quiet dinner with a few family members. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Marva was deeply devoted to her religion and was highly active in her church during her life. She also had a passion for genealogy, spending much of her time researching family lineage and teaching classes to members of her church. Marva and Fletcher loved travel and camping in their fifth-wheel travel. Their favorite destinations included the North Cascades, Yuma, Arizona, Westport, WA, and Northern CA. Marva also enjoyed gardening and had a talent for growing beautiful roses.
Remaining to cherish Marva’s name are daughter Cynthia Byers (Larry), grandchildren, Terri Rickaby (Duane), Christina Hammond (Aaron), Steven Byers (Anna), Rachael Albarran (Brian), Heather Byers and Daniel Johnson (Krystin), great-grandchildren, Taylor Brewster (Lukas), Samantha Rickaby. Anna Hammond, and Luca Albarran, and one great-great grandson, Thomas Brewster, brothers Larry Bingham (Judy), James Bingham (Connie), sister Linda Houser and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marva in death are her husband, Fletcher, her son Tom, and brother Merlyn Bingham.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 11, 2025, at 12 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2223 NW 99th St.,
