Marvel Surrette Obituary
She is survived by two daughters, Rene Swaim (Steve) and Dewanna Choate (Adrian); grandchildren, Heather, Ashley, Nicholas and Nichole; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Lauren, Lucas, Andrew, Landen, Daniel, Jarryn, Grace and Addison; nephew, Steve Ray.
Marvel taught fourth grade at Pleasant Hope from 1974, until her retirement. She was also a dedicated and devoted pastor's wife, as she followed her husband Dr. G H Surrette, in his ministry throughout Tennessee and Texas. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Bolivar.
Services for Marvel Surrette are private. Memorials in her memory can be made to the G H Surrette Scholarship Fund (Southwest Baptist University) or a memorial of the donor's choice, and can be left at or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, MO 65536.

Rene and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I spent many hours in their home visiting with Rene. My Dad. Dr. Milton A. Webb also taught at Southwest Baptist when it was a college. My prayers are with you.
