Marvin Vincent Blakely, a devoted father, son, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and compassion. Born to Charles Phillip Blakely, Sr. and LaRusha Blakely, Marvin lived a life that touched countless hearts.

For 45 incredible years, he was the beloved husband of Shelia F. Blakely, with whom he shared a steadfast partnership rooted in love and faith. He was the faithful father of Charles Phillip Blakely III, LaRusha Blakely, and Esther Marie Blakely, and the proud grandfather of Janiah P. Blakely, Charles P. Blakely IV, Elycia S. Blakely, and Nevaeh Blakely. His family was his greatest joy and dearest treasure.

Marvin will be remembered for his beautiful singing voice, his hearty laughter, and his remarkable generosity. A man of compassion and selflessness, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. Above all, Marvin was a firm believer in Jesus Christ. He devoted his life to sharing the gospel and served faithfully as both a minister and elder in many congregations. Wherever he went, he was considered a true asset and a blessing.

Professionally, Marvin worked for the United States Postal Service in Buffalo, NY, where he served with dedication until his retirement. In 2018, he and Shelia relocated to Douglasville, GA, where he continued to touch lives with his faith and kindness.

Marvin's life was a shining example of love, integrity, and faith in action. He leaves to cherish his memory a host of family, friends, and acquaintances whose lives will forever be marked by the indelible impression he made. He was loved beyond measure, respected by all, and will always be remembered as a true gem.
