Marvin "Mickey" Cohen, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday May 20 th surrounded by family. He leaves behind a legacy of passion, determination, and love. Mickey, born in Bronx, NY to Esther and David Cohen, was a Navy Veteran and the former owner of Luzerne Plumbing Supply, where he became well known for the "Lady in the Bathtub," as seen from the Cross Valley Expressway. Through his business he served his community with integrity and dedication. Beyond his professional life, he lived in the fast lane-literally. An avid highly successful SCCA race car driver and multiple winner of the legendary Giant's Despair Hill Climb, he found exhilaration behind the wheel, embracing every curve and challenge with skill and enthusiasm.

His love for racing was more than a sport: it was a reflection of his fearless spirit. Following his racing career he continued his love of motorsports competing in two Great American Road Races. His passion for the road and its thrills went beyond the four wheeled vehicles. Once his racing career ended, he returned to an earlier passion for motorcycles, of both the two and three wheeled versions. His drive to ride led him to being awarded two Iron Butt Association certificates, riding 1000 miles in 24 hours, and 1500 miles in 24 hours. Both certificates were achieved when he was 70 years of age.

Mickey's greatest joy, however, was his family. He was devoted to his wife Miriam, "Mimi" for 69 years. Meeting in Monticello, NY together they built a love story on companionship and unwavering support. She survives him as well as their four children: Jay (wife Kathy) of Boyce, VA; Richard (partner Nancy) of Kingston, Amy (husband Roger) of Philadelphia, and Lisa (husband Scott) of Milwaukee, WI. He was also the beloved grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His love, wisdom, and humor will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Besides his parents, Mickey was preceded in death by his sister Helene Lerch, brother Robert Cohen, and grandson Samuel Harris Cohen.

The family would like to thank his loving care giver Patria Nunez, and all the staff of Erwine Home health for the care they provided until his passing.

Services are entrusted to the Rosenberg Funeral Home. A private celebration of life will be held at a time to be determined.

As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life well-lived-one marked by adventure, hard work, and boundless love. Mickey's memory will live on in every race he drove, every lesson he imparted and every heart he touched.

Memorial donations may be made in Mickey's memory to the Jewish National Fund at WWW.jnf.org

I´m absolutely heartbroken to hear about Mickey. That cross-country trip we took 25 years ago was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, and it´s filled with so many memories of Mick. We shared something truly special on those roads...including the $85 speeding tickets somewhere in Minnesota.
The news of Mick´s passing has hit me hard. I´ll never forget the freedom we felt riding across the country together. Those were unforgettable times, and he was a fantastic companion. He never complained about my snoring, he said he was used to it, but we won´t go there. My heart goes out to his family.
I first met Mickey 35 years ago at a CBX motorcycle event in New England. As we talked we learned that both of us were from PA. From that moment on our friendship continued with morning breakfast or lunch motorcycle trips. It feels like yesterday when I think about our cross-country trip. Mick was more than just a riding buddy, he was a true friend. I´ll always cherish those memories.
We logged so many miles together, especially on that cross-country adventure that alone was 9,400 miles. Mick´s passion for riding was infectious, and his friendship meant the world to me. This is a tremendous loss.
Godspeed Mick!
