Marvin James "Bub" Crawford, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away on October 4, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on November 8, 1956, in Carrollton, he was a deeply loved husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
Bub dedicated 33 years to North American Stainless as a Millwright and Maintenance Planner. His steadfast commitment to his work illustrated his strong work ethic and dedication to fulfilling his responsibilities with care and precision.
He was a 1974 graduate of Carroll County High School. Throughout his life, he maintained a personality that reflected his affinity for being a Jack of All Trades. While he often found himself struggling to complete tasks in a timely manner, he approached every endeavor with enthusiasm and tried to find the humor in his endeavors.
Military service was also a proud part of Bub's identity. He served honorably in the United States Army National Guard at the Carrollton Unit, showcasing his commitment to his country and community.
Bub was known for his warmth and spirit, and early in his life, he loved spending time on his grandparents' farm. His compassionate nature extended into his later years, where he played a vital role in assisting his wife with animal rescue efforts.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Tammie Johnson Crawford, to whom he married on September 28, 1974; daughters, Nickola Rae Fox (Courtney Gongora) and Amanda Jo (Colton) Griffin, all of Carrollton; sister, Brenda (Troy) Fox of Carrollton; grandchildren, Darian (Tae) Munphrey, Haley Walker, Jaslyn Walker, Isabella Yocum, Dillon (StaiSha) Skirvin, and Wyatt Griffin; and great-grandchildren, Zuri, Kyah, Marcellus, Taevon, and Layla. He is also remembered by his father-in-law, Dave Johnson, and brother-in-law, Jeff Johnson.
Bub was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Crawford and Katherine Cobb Crawford, and his mother-in-law, Virginia "Roonie" Johnson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton. The funeral service will take place the following day, Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carrollton American Legion Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
As we remember Marvin "Bub" Crawford, let us celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and the unwavering support of his family and friends. His legacy will live on through those who had the privilege of knowing him.
