Funeral Service for Mr. Marvin Junior Davis, 87, of Dadeville, Alabama, will be Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 2:00 pm at the Mt Carmel Baptist Church. Rev. Freddie Senn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Eagle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Mt Carmel Baptist Church.
Marvin Junior Davis, a cherished patriarch, devoted Christian, and master of all trades, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at his residence surrounded by the love of his family. His life was a testament to the values of hard work, faith, and family devotion. Marvin's legacy is carried on by his beloved daughter, Dianne (William) Slay of Dadeville, AL, his grandchildren, Craig Anthony (Wendy) Rowan of Opelika, AL, Kyle Anthony (Amber) Slay of Headland, AL, and his adored great-grandchildren, Thomas Anthony (Levi) Rowan, Angel Grace Rowan, Savannah Lynne Rowan, Mackenzie Jo Slay, and Brayden Anthony Slay. His memory will also be treasured by his sisters, Margaret Robinson, and Elaine (Lynn) Wright, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Marvin was born into the loving arms of Olice and Othera Davis and grew up learning the values that would guide him throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife, Ludie Runell Davis, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring partnership for 53 years and his brother, Randall Davis.
For 42 years, Marvin dedicated his career to West Point Pepperell, where his work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident to all who knew him. Following his retirement, he continued to serve his community by working in security for Madix for several years. His professional life was marked by dedication and a reputation for reliability and integrity.
A man of deep faith, Marvin was a member of Mt Carmel Baptist Church for over 50 years. His service to the church as a trustee was just one of the many ways he demonstrated his commitment to his faith and his community. Marvin's Christian beliefs were the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and interactions with everyone he met.
Marvin's interests were as varied as they were passionate. He loved woodworking and working with his hands, skills that he honed over a lifetime and shared with others. His garden was a source of pride and joy, brimming with vegetables, fruit trees, and flowers that reflected his love for nurturing growth. His appreciation for the past was evident in his collection of antiques, each piece with its own story that he was always eager to share.
Above all, Marvin cherished his family and his church family. He was the embodiment of love, always ready to lend a hand or offer support. His selfless nature made him a pillar in the lives of those who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
As we say goodbye to Marvin Junior Davis, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, service, and the simple joys that make a life rich and meaningful. His was a life that truly made a difference, and his spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
