Marvin H. Feldman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and friend, passed away in
Palm Harbor, Florida on March 4, 2026, surrounded by the loving family to which he devoted his life after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Though widely respected as a leader in his industry, Marv always said, "I want to be remembered as a loving, caring husband and father who just happened to be successful in the life insurance industry." That is how he wished to be remembered, and that is exactly how he lived.
Marv signed his New York Life contract almost 60 years ago while he was a senior at Ohio State University. After 2 ½ years in the field, he transitioned into New York Life's Management Program. In 1974 Marv returned to personal production in East Liverpool, Ohio as a partner in the Feldman Agency and President of Fremar Financial Group, where he worked with his father Ben and his brother Richard. He ended his career in 2020 as the President of the Feldman Financial Group in
Palm Harbor, Florida and Chief Executive Officer of the LIFE Foundation in
Washington, DC.
Marv is a 50 plus-year MDRT Member and was the 2002 President of the Million Dollar Round Table. He was a member of the elite Top of the Table for 41 years, serving on their board and as the Top of the Table Chairman. He was honored as the Circle of Life recipient in 2004 by the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation in recognition of his community and industry leadership.
Active in the financial services industry, Marv gave speeches in 40 countries. He served as the Secretary of New York Life's Agent's Advisory Council, and was a member of MDRT and NAIFA. Marv was named to Insurance Newscast's list of the 100 most powerful people in the insurance industry in North America, the LifeHealthPro list of the 24 most creative people in the insurance industry and was the recipient of the 2011 John Newton Russell award, the highest honor bestowed on an individual by the insurance industry. He contributed articles to many professional journals and was featured in both magazines and books.
He recently published his book, "Man on a Mission: How to Succeed, Serve, and Make a Difference in Your Financial Services Career," which captured not only his expertise, but his belief in purpose, integrity, and service. Yet those who knew him best understood that his greatest mission was people. He mentored generously, cared deeply, and offered his time and insight to anyone who asked. His kindness was not selective; it was a way of life.
Marv was an active believer in community service, in addition to serving as President of the East Liverpool Temple Beth Shalom Board, he was also Chairman of the East Liverpool City Hospital. Marv was also Founder and Director of the 1st National Community Bank in East Liverpool, with a mission of serving the community in which it was founded. He co-chaired or chaired many advanced gifts campaigns for nonprofit, educational and health organizations. Marv is listed in Who's Who in Business and Finance and Who's Who in the World.
One of Marv's most defining gifts was his quirky sense of humor. He had an uncanny ability to find something funny in almost any situation, even the ones that felt heavy or impossibly serious. Marv could lighten a room with a single comment or a story only he could tell. His laughter - and the laughter he sparked in others - made people feel at ease, seen, and comforted. It was his way of reminding everyone that even in difficult moments, joy was still possible.
Marv embraced the world with curiosity and enthusiasm. He loved fast cars, international travel, chocolate ice cream, peanut butter, reading books and dogs. He loved long walks with friends, a good joke, and was always happy to do the dishes after a delicious meal.
Marv is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Vicki, whom he met in 2nd grade and whose partnership and cooking brought him joy every day; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Rick Lubaroff and Barbi and Rick Ferland, who were shaped by his steady guidance and unconditional love; his four grandchildren, Maya, Ryan, Andi and Ethan, who adored their Poppa and learned from his humor, wisdom, and warmth; and his nieces Wendy Feldman, Lori Goodman and Melissa Feldman, who could always rely on his advice and support both personally and professionally.
Marv lived a blessed and beautiful life, surrounded by people who not only loved him, but aspired to be as kind, as giving, and as grounded as he was. His legacy lives on in the family and friends he cherished, the colleagues he inspired, and the many lives he touched with his steady presence, open heart, and the laughter he so effortlessly shared. He was a man, father and partner who will be truly missed.
