Marvin Hoff, 67, Jamestown, ND, passed away May 3, 2024 at Eventide @ Hi-Acres. It is with heavy hearts the family announces that Marvin lost his battle with Brain Cancer.
Marvin was born April 2, 1957 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Julius and Genevieve (Peterson) Hoff. He attended Roosevelt grade school and graduated from Jamestown High School. He later received an Associated Degree of Science as an Electrician at Rochester, MN.
Marvin worked as an escort for the ND State Hospital from 1975-2022, retiring April 1, 2022, He also worked at the Music Corner for 14 years tuning pianos and working on musical instruments.
Marvin attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Jamestown, was a life member of the North American Fishing Club, the Musical Instrument Technicians Association, the ND Public Employees Association, and received the ND Governor’s Award of Excellence for Human Services. Marvin was a simple man with lots of love to give his family and friends. Marvin was a huge hunter and fisherman, having gone on numerous hunting and fishing trips with hunting and fishing family. He cherished his vacations with his son Broc.
Marvin enjoyed music and played in bands, the Fog, White Mountain Grand and Johnny and the Pump Handles.
Marvin is survived by his cherished son, Broc Allen Hoff & Sydney Bothwell, Fargo, ND; brother, Larry (Lori) Hoff, Jamestown, ND; brother-in-law, Tom Sietz ; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins; aunt Erna Bauer, Washburn, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Janet Sietz, 2 nephews, Cody Dunwoodie and Brody Sietz.
