Carol Gene Hoff

Carol Gene Hoff of Goliad, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia; his father, Cammie; and his beloved grandparents, Willie and Sarina Hoff.

Born and raised in Goliad, Carol was a lifelong rancher who carried forward his family's deep roots in the land. From an early age, he developed a strong work ethic and a passion for ranching that would define his life.

A rancher through and through, Carol dedicated his life to working the land and caring for his cattle. He took great pride in the feedlot he built and operated over the years, pouring into it the same determination and grit that characterized everything he did.

In his younger years, Carol was known for his speed and competitive spirit. He was a standout runner and earned All-District honors in football at Goliad High School, reflecting the hardworking spirit that would define his life.

Above all else, Carol loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Jayne; his son, Seth, and daughter-in-law, Kayla; his cherished grandchildren, Cuhlin, Creighton, and Cahlder; and his brothers, Bobby (Julie) and Craig Hoff.

Carol will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of ranching and the outdoors. He was a proud and devoted grandfather who loved his Hoff boys dearly. His legacy will live on in the land he loved and in the generations of family who will carry it forward.
