Marvin Jackson Obituary
Marvin E. Jackson, 83, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.
Marvin was born on December 10, 1942, in Pittsburg, Kansas, to the late Sylvester E. Jackson and Dorothy E. (Baughman) Jackson.
He earned a Bachelor of Finance degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an active man who enjoyed golfing, playing racquetball, and reading.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Jackson.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 63 years, Grace Marie (Keith) Jackson, whom he married on June 15, 1962. He is also survived by his two sons, Matthew (Margaret “Maggie”) Jackson Sr. and Timothy A. Jackson, both of New Bern, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Matthew Jr. and Katherine Jackson; his sister-in-law, Joan Jackson of Caldwell, Ohio; as well as several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Cremation has taken place, and inurnment will be held at a later date at Olive Cemetery in Caldwell, Ohio.
Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 609 West Street, Caldwell, Ohio 43724, has been entrusted with the care of the family.
