Marvin Logan Obituary

Marvin C. Logan age 87 of rural Wapakoneta, passed at 8:57 a.m., Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Cridersville Health Care. He was born May 26, 1938 in Lima, Ohio to the late Darold E. and Iola Pearl Miller Logan. On March 20, 1959 he married Barbara Jane Hengstler, who passed on January 2, 2017.

Marvin retired from Sears after more than 30 years of dedicated service as a small engine repair technician. He graduated in 1956 from Shawnee High School and after high school he enlisted into the U.S. Army. He formerly attended the Uniopolis United Methodist Church and was a lifelong member of the Eagles #691 of Wapakoneta. Marvin was an active member of the Footprints Dance Club in Lima and truly loved to dance. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed fishing and was a proud member of the Cridersville Bass Busters. Marvin took great pride in caring for his yard and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed playing music at events, weddings, and all occasions, sharing his talents with others. Never one to shy away from friendly competition, he loved the challenge of playing Euchre and Canasta. Marvin will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love of music and the outdoors, and the joy he found in sharing his passions with family and friends.

He is survived by a son – Steve Logan of Wapakoneta; a son-in-law – Frank Stapp of Wapakoneta; a daughter-in-law – Pam Logan of Elida; 5 grandchildren – Jessica Logan, Jennifer (Joe) Morgan, Lindsay (Dustin) Birkenkamp, Jeff (Jamie) Logan, and Tyler Stapp; 9 great grandchildren .

He was preceded in death by a daughter – Linda L. Stapp; a son – Max Logan.

Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Uniopolis Fire Department and Rescue.
